ArchLinux

Thursday, August 31st, 2006

So in my never-ending search for a great linux distrobution I’ve found ArchLinux.
Let me list my problems with the other distrobutions I’ve used:

Fedora: Nothing against the Red Hat people but I hate RPM distros. I love a bunch of the software developed originally for Red Hat and I use a lot of it (going [...]

tier 0.5 6/8 x2 yay!

Wednesday, August 30th, 2006

Eeeee! My mage and warrior are now both 6/8 their Tier 0.5 set! All pieces are DRASTIC upgrades from before, and I’m really excited to test out my warrior’s healing power now :x she is so great <3 My mage has another set of shoulders that are actually better than the Sorcerer’s ones, buuuut the set bonus from Sorcerer’s makes it better overall (similar stats but way more +dmg) :x so I need to wait until she has her robe + helm to be able to switch things around so I can wear the better shoulders.

Sorry to post about WoW again as usual XD but I am excited and tired and this is all I have the energy to blab about right now :x good night! Maybe I’ll post pictures tomorrow (yes because I know you all care so much!)

The first go through (with the original group, with Chris playing as Veela) was really easy, we creamed them first try. The second go through with my mage was not so easy :( we replaced Hixxy with Sanveane but I don’t think that was it. We had a much harder group D: mage, shaman, rogue x2, and theldren. After 3 or 4 wipes to them we reset and got warrior, rogue, mage, priest, shaman, which was easier but not by much XD Kelry and I ended up wearing down the last 60% of Theldren’s life ourselves kiting :X Chris did very well considering he has never played a priest before <3 He had a lot of trouble after the first run with stuns/gouge/etc. I’m not sure if he was just lucky the first time or if having a overall more hefty group (2 warriors) helped keep heat off him.

Much love to Hixxy, Kelry, Sanveane, Erin, and Chris! Sanveane and Chris especially since neither of them actually needed to go and they were just sticking around to help :) Yaaay~ now for the fun bosses in all the different instances. I’ll find out tomorrow which ones I need to do. I’m sooo tired right now XD;;

Missed my Dentist Apointment

Wednesday, August 30th, 2006

So I missed my dentist apointment that was at 10:00am today. I was watching TV and then at like 10:05 went “OH SHIT” and ran upstairs to call them up. I said I could get there in like 10 minutes but they said they’d rather reschedule. I have no idea if they charge for that [...]

WoW junk mostly

Had a fun time raiding tonight on Ceres :)

We zoomed straight to Ouro! Nothing dropped that I was interested in (barb of the sand reaver, but I JUST got a Doom’s Edge last night so I passed) but I did hit neutral with the good ol’ bronze dragons and so I attained a sexy ring :) In exchange for potions, Tendermuffin is going to help me farm some heavy silithid carapaces of which I need 4-5 for my Nature Resistance gear so I stop feeling like a noob being in the top 15 with only 183 buffed NR. I do miss raiding with Chris though, it was a lot more fun when he took part with me in all this stuff. Maybe someday again.

Don’t really have much to say. Tired, a little bit hungry, and I need to get to bed :) meeting at work in the morning and paycheck pickup time! Whoo :D

I keep trying to think of something else to write about, but there isn’t much. I’ve been watching Battlestar Galactica with Shane and Chris (Shane owns the dvds) and I really like it so far. I am super excited for House and Scrubs to start up again too… damn you TV, why must parts of you be good?

Car Payments and Go Games

Tuesday, August 29th, 2006

My car just broke down slightly so $320 later I’m excited that I will not be able to pay off my credit card quite yet, oh well.
In other news my go playing is slightly improving I think. The online go lectures are helping a lot. I know more about how to think about the game, [...]

Gentoo Raid 5 Server is a go!

Friday, August 25th, 2006

I’ve been helping a friend setup a MythTV Gentoo server. I’ve used Gentoo a lot in the past so I think he thought it might help having me around for the install. I have never installed a software raid or a MythTV box though so I’m very excited about seeing this happen.
We setup the box [...]

Sooooo~

The day before yesterday I spent all day (literally…) doing more work! I finished up / tweaked the 3d model I had been working on. I ran into trouble trying to get it to animate and whatnot though :( But I will make it!!! At night I went to LBRS. The beginning went well, but after waiting a long time for Sanveane to replace Syribo (not Syribo’s fault… she didn’t feel well) we wiped, and on the way back… respawn was popping right on top of us :( We wiped again, fought through all the respawn we hadn’t killed yet… only to watch the entire spider hallway respawn before our eyes >_<

We did run into THREE rare spawns though, which I found pretty amusing :)

Yesterday during the day I just spent a lot of time in WoW and The Sims, and a few hours doing work. I mostly did battlegrounds and won no AVs (of course). In the evening though, Kendra came to pick me up and we went out to Amherst Brewing Company :D I had tasty pulled pork and Kendra had shepherd’s pie :) I had a lot of fun and it was good to catch up with her after so long :D

After I got back home, I went on WoW again… we just finished up our ogre beads so BRD is very soon in the horizons, and the next pieces of our tier 0.5 set :)

I need to get working again… sigh.

Yet another Live Journal Pluging for Word Press

Wednesday, August 23rd, 2006

Recently my blog was updated to the newest Word Press and this (of course) broke my old LivePress plugin that cross posted to Livejournal. Since I barely post in LiveJournal and all of my friends use it, it’s pretty important to have this working (I should have fixed this a while ago!)
Here’s a test of [...]

Linux Game Status

Wednesday, August 23rd, 2006

Unreal2004, Neverwinter Nights and Quake 3 all run great (obviously) since they are native linux apps. Not much needs to be said except kudos to the developers for making linux clients
World of Warcraft, Warcraft III and Diablo II seem to run great. I installed WoW by copying over my windows install folder, and [...]

Work ftl.

Wednesday, August 23rd, 2006

Good news: I FINALLY fixed the stupid scrolling problem that my website for work always had in IE and Safari. The website should look GOOD in at least Firefox/IE/Safari right now.

Bad news: IT IS 3:30 IN THE MORNING AND MY MEETING IS IN 6 HOURS D: AHHH *rips hair out*
