Yep. I did the 45-minute Baron run tonight with Daughters of the Alliance!

It was awesome. We totally creamed it. Had plenty of time to spare (about 3-4 minutes).

But! There’s always a catch.

I didn’t have the quest. :P

Now I have to go back and do it again tomorrow :( tomorrow we will have buffs though. And assuming no accidental wipes… we will definitely win it again. But how frustrating to do it but not get credit! At the least, I did get my AD rep. (And immune to disarm gloves, +15 NR shield, and nice dps/SR shoulders)

I think I’m gonna cut a bunch of my hair off when I get home friday. I’m dying in the heat :( not to mention it’ll make my hair nice and manageable for a little while. Just to my shoulders wouldn’t be too bad… I kind of miss it being short again. I think it looks good when it’s long but it’s really way too much of a pain in the ass to take care of. I wish it didn’t take over an hour to straighten my hair, or I would do it every day. However, anything longer than 10 minutes that involves my hair is a “no” for everyday use :P

Anyway going to see Cars tonight (and eat some steaks at Jared’s) and do a couple of 45-minute Baron runs in WoW and give Tony his birthday present :)

Friday is my birthday! Friday, I also get paid, but I won’t be around to get paid :( I am so poor right now it’s pathetic. Going to go home for Friday and Saturday for sure at least, depends what my parents are doing for how long we are staying after that.

I’ve been playing way too much of The Sims - I wonder sometimes how [info]doxamully does it! It takes sooo long~ but it’s really unbelieveably fun at the same time.

Got my present from Roxy in the mail yesterday!! Thank you so much :D I am wearing them today! (and the Toppo was super delicious! Toppo > Pocky! for real.)

Art School Confidential

Monday, June 12th, 2006

Saw “Art School Confidential” today in Northampton. I liked the first part of it certainly. Then the main character was stupid for the rest of the movie and I didn’t really care about him anymore because he was being dumb. I have a hard time caring about characters that I think are being truly stupid. So that was that. It turned for the better slightly at the end but still had a way cliche ending :p

My guild on Bronzebeard did their first UBRS run last night :) We owned the place, I was so proud. We did way better than most PUGs, and most of them had never been in the instance before.

Tomorrow I am going to try to do work and clean up. There are some things I have been wanting to get done for a while and tomorrow is the perfect time to get it done. Tomorrow is also Chris’ 22nd birthday :D

I am convinced there is something about water chestnuts that doesn’t agree with me. I never feel well after eating them :( We went to Tony’s tonight (for regular game night) and had some really, really good beef stir fry. Mixing in oranges (mandarin oranges is what we used) was an awesome idea. Added a bit of sweetness to the rice :) I ate a LOT, probably too much, but it was really good.

I have been eating much better lately than I was while in school. I am enjoying it. Still haven’t been exercising though, that will have to be my next goal. I know I am not fat and probably not technically overweight by any means, but it wouldn’t hurt to lose some weight.

Mostly WoW post, apologies!

Real life stuff before I go into WoW: Met one of Chris’ uncles last night :) We went out to eat at Holy Smokes with Dahna and Ben (and them of course), I got the pulled meat platter and it was aaaawesome. I was a little worried, because last time they made a mistake and mixed in the 666 sauce which I didn’t ask for, but everyone else at the table did :( This time though, it was perfect!

A couple of days ago, Chris and I made shepherd’s pie :) It was really good except I burned my hand on the pot handle. I wasn’t thinking, and it was stainless steel, and had just come out of the oven :D It hurt like a bitch for about 4-5 hours before it finally calmed down. I had ice on it, which felt great until I removed it, then it would start to hurt again. Now it’s just a shiny little red spot. Tonight, I think we are making Chicken Fingers, if they don’t take too long to make :) And yesterday we had tacos for lunch! We have been eating pretty well lately. I am determined to lose some of the weight I have gained (I haven’t gained much… I always have fluctuated about 10 pounds between 110-120, I am about 130 now, would like to go back to 110 but 120 would be okay). Want to try to set some nights aside for DDR so I can get some exercise too :)

The apartment has slowly been getting cleaner. I try to do a little bit each day (especially yesterday because of Chris’ family coming over).

The day before yesterday, mom came over with Erin. She brought a new litter box for us, my grandma’s TV and TV stand, and some other things from grandma’s apartment she thought that we could use. It’s nice to have a big TV downstairs again… dad put it in the car badly though (it is VERY front-heavy) and it fell over and some of the plastic casing on the front broke off :( but it’s no biggie, still works the same and just looks a little less pretty. Mom also brought over a picture of grandma (she was with Erin and I at our 8th grade graduation - I look like an idiot and wasn’t smiling at all but that’s okay), so I need to get a nice frame for it.

I already wrote down all the stuff under this (wrote it first, then thought that I probably didn’t want to do an all-WoW post) so now I’m going to go do work!

I’ve done kind of a lot in WoW lately.

Ceres went to AQ-40 twice, we didn’t manage to down Huhuran though :( However I did get some DKP so for the next 3 weeks I won’t lose any for inactivity. Also got Onyxia, it’s been a loooong time since I’ve been in her lair :) I want to try going to MC to get my DS legs and my Cloak of the Shrouded Mists, still. But I can’t appear to “blow all my dkp” if I make my druid my main soon, because then they’ll both lose a hefty amount D:

Alanis, I have been playing a lot lately. Kind of surprising, since it took her at least 3 months to go from 56->60 because of general inactivity and I only have about 1 day of /played time on her since she hit 60 :) I did the Tier 0.5 upgrades so now she has her gloves, and she’s ready for the 45-minute Baron. AU likes to do the 45 Baron runs, so hopefully she’ll have that done in a matter of days. She isn’t epicced out like everyone else, but it’ll be okay! I also am going to be making some Scholomance runs on her with Kelsin. He needs his Wildheart Cowl (for upgrade quests) and I need to get my Magister’s Mantle and Crown :) I am thinking of getting Alanis attuned to MC so I can run MC with her, maybe get a Staff of Dominance or something. I don’t want to do too much though, since I plan on transferring her to Bronzebeard when paid server transfers come out.

Alaphrei is about halfway to 54 now, with her Wildheart Gloves and DM book waiting for her when she gets there. I can’t wait for her to hit 60 so I can try raiding with her! She is proof however of how much I hate leveling on a pvp server. If she were on a PvE server, I’d have been 60 by now. But I usually don’t bother playing late in the day at all because it is so frustrating to die all the time :( Against even levels I can very much hold my ground, and often beat them. But higher levels, it is too difficult and often not worth the effort, anyway :x

Shaeldre got her second epic a couple of days ago. I finally coughed up the cash to buy Stockade Pauldrons, so now I have the highest +defense shoulders in the game (at least, they used to be - I am not sure if that is still the case). I still need to get some DPS shoulders, though. At least I replaced my crappy green level 51 shoulders, though! She looks really good though :) Except for her boots, she overall matches. Lots of silver/gold to her, except fooooor the big ugly red boots :D I’ll need to get Valor, although they suck. Heroism boots are really good though :) Must… do… 45… minute… Baron…!

Feral druid. Denied a “DPS” spot in Zul’Farrak. I’m 6 levels higher than “good minimum” for the instance. I’m confused. :| Is it wrong that I hope they miserably fail because they didn’t see me as a viable “dps” spot in their group? If they needed AoE, fine - I didn’t know their group make up at the time. But there was no specification when they were looking for people to join.

I did notice that later in their instance run, they had their warrior switch out and come on his 60 mage, and they only had a 42 druid with them (and I’m 53!). In the meantime, I ran through the whole instance with Tendermuffin, I got my Jinxed Hoodoo Skin, my Embrace of the Lycan, and did the stairs event twice with just the two of us! (The first time we succeeded, but I died and while I was running back, Bly hearthed because he’s a douche ;_;) I got all of my quests done except for Gahz’rilla because neither of us have the mallet :)

summer reading :)

Tuesday, June 6th, 2006

I’ve decided to pick out some books to read for the summer :)

One of them will have to be The Da Vinci Code. Chris read it all in one night so it must be a little bit entertaining. Unfortunately, I have read all the Warcraft novels to date, so I’ll need to find something else in that respect ;) maybe Pillars of the World/etc. Taking the bus to and from work will definitely increase the amount of time I have for reading! I think I also want to try to pick up the Wheel of Time series again. I invested many hours of my life into it reading 8 books - there is no way I am going to drop it now. However I have pretty much forgotten most of the story by now (except for the very main parts of it). I wonder if there is a website anywhere out there with summaries :x I’m not really into the idea of reading them all again, although now that I am older I might enjoy reading it again from a more mature perspective. But… that’s a lot of reading to do!

Chris doesn’t feel good today :( I hope he feels better tomorrow when he wakes up. I’m a little stuffy (he is too, but combined with a headache), but I think I am just dealing with the aftermath of being home for so long. The allergies take a while to “wear off” if you will :x However my nose is feeling annoying and sensitive now, so I have some lip/face balm on it to hopefully keep any infection out.

As far as WoW goes, I have 611g on my warrior on Bronzebeard now (yay) and nothing to spend it on (Well, I do want stockade pauldrons but don’t want to spend much over 200g for them, and eventually if Chris ever gets Moonlyte to 60 I want to buy him his epic mount). I finally sold my libram of focus :x The AH took an enormous cut though :( AH selling FTL… I also got my druid on Mannoroth to 53, so now she has devilsaur gauntlets :) I did a “5″-man Maraudon run with Erin and a few pugs, and the priest disappeared when we had been in the instance for about 10 minutes. But we took care of Landslide, the Princess, and Rotgrip easily :) It was me (feral druid, whooo), a 55 warrior, 53 hunter (Erin), and 49 hunter. It was really easy to heal since only the warrior and pets were taking damage, and I mostly ignored the pets since I wanted to make sure I had mana for the warrior. Who needs priests, seriously? Though, it was fun going feral… for 10 minutes. :( More proof though that feral druids still own! We were a bit high for the instance, but still, being able to 4-man 3 bosses was pretty impressive. The warrior was, shall we say, “twinked” though. Plenty of very good gear for his level. He had a Brain Hacker too (which I hope he didn’t spend too much on), but he didn’t use it in the hard fights and went with sword/board instead.

I did remember to call my dad but I don’t remember where I left his birthday card at home :( I hope he was able to find it, if not next time I’m home I’ll have to get it to him. We didn’t end up going to see the movie today - it was too late by the time Chris and Tony got out of frisbee. We got some food (I went to subway and they had this crazy electronic ordering thing which I was scared of, they went to bueno y sano), and then watched 3 or 4 episodes of Scrubs in Tony’s room :) He has the 2nd floor of his house all to himself right now - both other housemates on that floor have moved out for the summer :P He also has the coolest cowboy bebop wallscroll I have ever seen (of Ed and Ein walking toward the Bebop, I think. I didn’t look at it close up.)

I don’t know what else to write about so I guess I am done. Tomorrow I get to meet up with my Maya teacher. I hope that goes well, there is no concrete time to meet up with her though :/ I wrote her back but she hasn’t responded. I am beginning to think she is bad at that sort of thing!

Haha, I feel so bad for my mom! She has a level 34 hunter on Bronzebeard and she’s been getting really frustrated lately. Erin hopped on her character for a moment and figured it out for her. She hasn’t trained any spells since level 20 :( Poor, poor mom!

In other news, I got my job at comp sci! I’m going to be doing website/flash/3d work for the robotics lab :) I’m super excited and really looking forward to doing more work. I have to make up some sketches/thumbnails for the website, and the grad student working with me is going to get me some more images to use for the layout. It’ll be $10 an hour for now and will go up to $12, and it’s 25 hours a week. They are going to try to get me some more but we’ll work with what we have for now :)

Chris and I are going to see Art School Confidential (or whatever, I forget if that is the name or not) in northampton today with Tony. Hopefully it’ll be good! I wasn’t that interested by one of the trailers I saw a while ago but… we’ll see.

I was going to write more but now I need to finish up my grocery list since we’re going grocery shopping later!

Annnd happy birthday to my dad! I have to remember to call him in a little bit when he will hopefully be home.

Oh, last but not least, Chris was at his Facebook page today. For some reason his birthday was marked down as June 6th. And, he was listed as being interested in men. Haha :P
